Going-to-the-Sun Road
, Lake McDonald Complex is nestled on the shore of the
park's largest glacial water basin, and was built as a
hunting lodge in 1913 by John Lewis. Tranquility is
the key word whether staying in the lodge, rustic yet
comfortable cottages or in motor inn rooms. Transportation
to and from the West Glacier (Belton) Train Station:
For a nominal charge, transportation is available between
Lake McDonald Complex and West Glacier (Belton) Train
Station. Reservations required. |

air conditioning, elevator, in-room coffee makers
and mini-refrigerators are not available.

Russell’s Fireside Dining
Room is decorated with hunting trophies and rough-hewn
western red cedar wood beams that recall this building’s hunting
lodge origins. The dinner menu tends toward wild game and local
favorites. Breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.,
lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner is served
from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Enjoy a frosty pint of
Montana micro-brew beer or glass of wine during lunch and
dinner. The Restaurant seats on a first come first served basis
and does not accept reservations.
Casual attire is required
so come and enjoy our mountain cuisine . Children’s menus and
box lunches available.

The
Stockade Lounge features cedar-paneled walls and a view of
the lake, giving this bar a cozy feel. It is open from 11:30
a.m. to midnight offering bar menu items.

Jammer Joe's
Grill and Pizzeria
is a Red Bus
themed family style restaurant serving lunch and dinner from a
menu or all you can eat pasta, pizza and salad buffet. It is
open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Pizzeria closes in early
September. Located across from the
Lodge.

Campstore
is a spacious
store offering almost everything you will need for camping,
hiking and fishing – even night crawlers. A great selection of
Glacier National Park souvenirs can also be found here, as well
as groceries for your picnic lunch.

Main Lodge rooms surround the lobby on the second and
third floors with access via stairs only. View not guaranteed.
Large and Small Cottage rooms are located in
rustic yet comfortable duplex, tri-plex, four-plex and six-plex style buildings in the forested area
between the Main Lodge and Motor Inn. Cottages are within
walking distance to the Main Lodge
Motor Inn rooms
are tucked back in the trees near the Camp Store. Motor Inn is
located about 200 yards walking distance from the Main Lodge.

interpretive Red Bus tours, walking hotel tour, horseback riding,
boat cruises on Lake McDonald, National Park Service
Ranger /Naturalist presentations, fishing, hiking and shopping.

Although this
is a small gift shop, it features the largest selection of
jewelry made by both Native American and Montana artisans. “Made
in Montana” products are prominent here and include several
lines of pottery, artwork by well-known Montana artists, and
huckleberry gourmet treats. A great collection of Red Bus
souvenirs is also available at this location.
