When the magnificent, rambling, five-story Many Glacier Hotel opened to the public on July 4, 1915, the Great Northern Railway was already promoting it as “one of the most noteworthy tourist hotels that ever has been erected in America.” (Excerpt from “View with a Room” by Djuff & Morrison)

Today, Many Glacier Hotel still deserves the admiration it received over 94 years ago. The chalet hotel boasts a true Swiss atmosphere from the Alpine beauty that surrounds the building to the themed architecture and decor of the striking atrium lobby.

Many Glacier Hotel is located in the northeastern part of Glacier National Park on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake. This secluded, five-story hotel contains 214 guest rooms within two large chalets offering lakeside, standard and value accommodations. All guestrooms at Many Glacier Hotel are rustic, yet comfortable. In keeping in the era in which the hotel was built, the rooms offer guests modest amenities and old-world style accommodations resulting in a one-of-a kind, National Park lodging experience. Many Glacier Hotel is slated for historical interior renovations by the National Park Service starting in 2011.

Wildlife watching, relaxing and hiking are the primary activities enjoyed by guests of Many Glacier Hotel. The large, wrap-around lakeside balcony offers 180-degree views of Swiftcurrent Lake, surrounding rugged hillsides, three glaciers and incredible serrated peaks. Get up close to a glacier by taking the historic wooden boat "Chief Two Guns" across Swiftcurrent Lake, then board "Morning Eagle" to cross Lake Josephine. It is just a 2-mile round trip hike to Grinnell Glacier for an incredible outdoor adventure experience.

Montana singer songwriter David Walburn not only entertains every Monday through Saturday but also captivates with his guitar, harmonica and original songs. After enjoying David’s show, be sure to take in the prolonged evening sunset from the lakeside veranda or Interlaken Lounge. The sun seems to hang in blissful protest over the jagged peaks before bidding you good night. Please note that this popular Glacier National Park hotel tends to fill up quickly in the summer, so plan on booking early or consider visiting in the spring and fall.

This location presents visitors with an exceptional Grizzly Track Traders Gift Shop, Heidi's Snack Shop, Après Fondue delicacies, the Swiss Room and Interlaken Lounges and the lakeside Ptarmigan Dining Room. Red bus tours, boat cruises, David Walburn entertainment, evening ranger programs and numerous other activities are available at this spectacular lakeside setting. An ATM is available in the lobby. The hotel was declared a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 29, 1976.

Room Types
All room types can be found throughout all five floors. An antique elevator services one chalet annex but only up to the fourth floor. The second chalet annex has stair access only and bellmen are available to assist with luggage. Please be advised that requests for rooms with elevator access or balconies will be noted but are not guaranteed. All rooms in a category rent for the same price regardless of size, view, location, or whether a balcony is available. Lakeside rooms offer a guaranteed lake view. Standard rooms are similar in size and bed configuration to lakeside rooms but do not offer a lake view. Value rooms tend to be quite small and may be located on a main hallway, on higher floors or in a high traffic area. See below on page for in-room amenities.

Wheelchair Accessibility
The lodge offers six first-floor wheel chair accessible rooms of varying category and one in the value category located on the lower lake level. Each room has a bathroom shower with a seat and grab bars for both the toilet and shower.
