Safety Policy & Objectives

Glacier Park, Inc. is privileged and honored to work in partnership with the Blackfeet Nation, Parks Canada, and the U.S. National Park Service to help protect, preserve, and conserve the integrity of the natural, cultural, and historical environments at Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park and the surrounding communities for this and future generations.  

Glacier Park, Inc. is committed to operating our hospitality services in compliance with Federal and state applicable laws and regulations, National Park Service and Parks Canada requirements, national consensus standards, and the Blackfeet Nation's values to incorporating Best Management Practices to help ensure the safety in all of our operations.  We are committed to the safety of our employees and visitors and the protection of our buildings and personal property through a safety management system and continual improvement.
 
The President and senior management team of Glacier Park, Inc. are committed to providing the necessary resources to implement this safety policy throughout all operational and support locations.  It is the obligation of managers and supervisors at all levels to identify safety hazards and evaluate risks and consider these in all operational decisions, and to encourage the participation of all staff members and seasonal employees to be responsible for their actions to protect themselves, their fellow employees, and our visitors.

Objectives

The Senior Management Team of Glacier Park Inc. is committed to ensuring the following safety objectives are incorporated into all management plans and business decisions.

It is the obligation of managers and supervisors at all levels to consider these safety objectives in their operational decisions, and will encourage the participation of all staff members and seasonal employees to be responsible for incorporating these objectives in all of their actions.
Glacier Park Inc. will:
  • Place safety of our employees and visitors above all else
  • Strive to implement good training, a safe working environment, and qualified employees to reduce our injuries reportable to the U.S. Department of Labor by 2%.  
  • Institute a new training strategy and accountabilities with the goal of successfully educating 100% of staff on GPI's safety policies and objectives.
  • Effectively recertify all existing properties into our management systems over the next 12 months.
  • Have Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and trained staff at each property.
